Item Details
Dagmar is a one-off, 22ft 6ins Bermudan sloop designed by John Bain at Silvers Boatyard on the Clyde in 1935. She was lovingly restored in the late 1990s – early 2000s and in 2017 came first in class in the Round the Island Race.
She is basically sound with a pitch pine carvel hull below the waterline and mahogany above, all on an oak frame. She draws 4ft and has a 7.9ft beam. Inside the main cabin are two berths, a small galley and a head that retains the original Baby Blake. Forward there is the original, small, fold down cot.
In the early 2000s she was fitted with a Yanmar 1GM10 engine which is currently not running. During the last ten years she has been provided with a brand-new mast. She comes complete with one main sail, one foresail and a spinnaker together with a VHF radio and chartplotter.
For personal reasons the current owner needs to sell but would like her to go to an enthusiast who can keep this unique boat going. Dagmar is 86, it would be wonderful if she could make it to 100 and still be plying the waters of The Solent.
